Advanced Well Rounded
Curriculum
(5 kids in this photo admitted into Harker School after graduated from Little World)

Harker.jpg

The most advanced preschool academic curriculum in Bay Area

99.99% of our graduates are well above and beyond 1st Grade ready by California Common Core State Standards (CACCSS). This is not a typo if you understand the CACCSS is not really high standard.

Customized programs are available BY REQUEST for each individual kid that is capable and willing to advance his/her learning.

California public education is ranked only at #38 among all 50 states for Pre-K-12 by US News.

Kids will eventually need to compete on national level. Only to promise your kids to be kindergarten ready by the CACCSS standards is apparently not enough.

We cover all the key focuses emphasized by the best national ranking public education for kindergarten education in our 2-5 years programs to make them 1st Grade ready after graduation.

Other than specific Mandarin curriculums. We are bi-lingual only in limited use of Mandarin in daily activities to help kids from Mandarin speaking families to transit smoothly to full English learning environment. All our teachers and teaching aids are native English speakers born in US to communicate with our students in fluent American English without foreign accents.

Monthly schedule for each age group is published to help parents monitor how their kids keep up their learning.

We will not ASK or PUSH but ONLY BY REQUEST. For kids whose learning surpass their age group and want to advance by their own will. We can help them with customized learning curriculum in key studies:

English Language Arts (ELA):

  • K-3 Sight Words
learn to tell 170 high frequency common sight words by sighting without spelling directly

  • K-3 Vocabulary & Spelling
learning word definitions, roots, prefixes, suffixes, and correct word formation. learn and review at least 6 new spelling words every week.

  • K-3 Grammar & Mechanics:
Punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, relational and relative verbs and parts of speech.

  • K-2 Phonics
We heavily emphasize on phonics training. We see it most crucial to help kids from non English-speaking families be able to read better than kids from full English-speaking families. Start with the very basic A-Z letter sounds. We steadily progress to more advanced phonics learning for Bossy E, Consonant Blends, Consonant Digraphs, CVC Words, Diphthongs, Double letters, Final Sounds, Prefixes, R Controlled Vowels, Silent Letters, Soft Sounds, Suffixes, Tricky Phonics, Trigraphs, Vowel Digraphs, etc…
It may sound overwhelming. The very key is to feed each small piece gradually, but continuously and persistently every day. Without feeling any pressure, you will be surprised when you see your kids can go to library to pick up any book and read aloud confidently.

  • K-2 Reading
at least reading one subject every day from K-2 and even higher levels progressively

  • K-2 Writing
be able to express their ideas in one simple essay up to three pages

Mathematics:

  • Odd vs Even numbers

  • Counting and write down from 1-1000 by sequential or skip counting by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 to help build up the concept of multiplication

  • From 2 digits addition and subtraction without regrouping progress to 4 digits addition and subtraction by regrouping. 2 to 5 digits mixed addition up to 4 tiers. For a few individuals, we can even teach them to challenge multiplication, fractions and division.

  • Word problem solving
other than just mechanical calculations. Kids also gain true mathematical concepts and know how to apply them in real life

In this background photo, there are 5 kids went on to Harker school after they graduated from Little World. They continue to perform at top percentile in every subject among their peers. Every summer, some of our graduates from higher competitive schools come back to do volunteer teaching. They also share how their learning experience in Little World benefits them in pursuing higher education in our graduation ceremony. This is a proven track record on how we can educate your loved ones to their best and strong motivation for the little ones to follow their alumni’s footsteps.

Special Highlight
